WB Petit Verdot 2022

The extended aging in new French oak brings forth a complex, aromatic wine. The Reserve will pair well with kabobs, including lamb, beef and chicken along with hard cheese such as Cheddar, Asiago and Pecorino. 

A great red grape crop in 2019 allowed the winemaking team to hold back several barrels for a reserve program. The Meritage Reserve displays a lively medium ruby color with garnet highlights. The nose exhibits red fruit and barrel notes including raspberry and butter along with layers of toast, strawberry and woodshop. On the palate, this medium bodied wine displays elements of smoke and cherry. The “Reserve” finish lingers with fine tannin and notes of espresso and leather.
