Chambourcin 2022
A Bordeaux blend of 50% Merlot, 50% Cab Sauv. The bouquet highlights layers black cherry, cassis and cigar box along with the suggestion of cedar and baking spice. The aromas lead to deep palate with flavors including blackberry and black pepper with elements of dried cherry. A wine to pair with roasted poultry and hard cheese.

The much-anticipated return of Chambourcin is here. 868 Estate grew the 2019 in the vineyard planted along Harpers Ferry Road. Known for its intense color and smooth, approachable finish, this dry hybrid demonstrates the range of this popular east coast grape. The Chambourcin will pair with roasted chicken, summer barbeque and chocolate. This wine is ready to drink now and will improve over the next 12 months. Serve slightly chilled.
Tasting Notes
This pretty wine has a vibrant, medium purple color. Aromas of red raspberry, raspberry jam and strawberry spring from your glass, along with hints of hazelnut and toast. On the palate the Chambourcin presents its trademark acidity. Flavors of sour cherry, quince and red currant dominate along with notes of pepper and toasted almond. The Chambourcin finishes smoothly with suggestions of stewed fruit and saffron.
